Wings of Hope offers 4 monthly support groups.

The Young Women's Breast Cancer support group and the Hope for Tomorrow/Breast Cancer support group meetings are held at Wings of Hope, 427 E. Kanesville Blvd., Suite 202, Council Bluffs.

January 2010 Support Groups

YOUNG WOMEN'S BREAST CANCER SUPPORT GROUP

Support is provided in a group setting for young women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Wings of Hope, Jennie Edmundson Hospital and Alegent Mercy Hospital have joined together to sponsor a Breast Cancer Support Group for YOUNG WOMEN. This group focusses on the unique concerns of young women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
This group is facilitated by one of the following persons on a rotating basis: Tammy Johnson (JE Breast Health Center), Marchell Benes (Social Worker at Alegent Mercy), or Carolyn Ettinger (Counselor at Wings of Hope Cancer Support Center).

This group meets on 1st Tuesday of each month, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

HOPE FOR TOMORROW and BREAST CANCER SUPPORT GROUPS

A cancer support group for patients, spouses, families and friends. Educational topics and speakers, as well as support, are provided at these meetings. Facilitated by Carolyn Ettinger, MA, LMHP.

Meets the 3rd Monday of each month.

MEN'S CANCER ACTIVITY GROUP

Male cancer survivors meet at The Center to share together in talk and activity. We play Wii games.

Meets the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

Women's Cancer Survivor Exercise Group

Starting in January 2010, Wendy Buchholz, Occupational Therapist will teach classes for all female cancer survivors. This therapeutic movement program called "Healthy Moves" (previously known as LeBed) will meet at the Center.
